Global Education Guide:
This site is here to serve as a guide for educators, parents, and students. It includes resources for learning more about global education, links to become involved in organizations dedicated to global issues, and my initial work in global education as part of the Teachers for Global Classrooms program.
Global education focuses on preparing students for a globalized world where it is becoming increasingly more important to have an understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity, to be active for social justice issues, and to collaborate and communicate with an interconnected world. The Asia Society has determined that students should be able to:
Investigate the World
Weigh Perspectives
Communicate Ideas
Take Action
To be a global citizen, students should be invested in the world, acknowledge that they have the ability to cause change, and think about the actions they could take to make a difference in the world.
